Solar
Solar - Pool Heating
Swimming Pools Solar thermal technology is a very cost effective way to heat swimming pools, whether they are Olympic size or a small domestic pool. Instead of using expensive and inefficient fossil fuel to heat your pool use the natural light from the sun, a FREE source of energy that can be converted into heat by using solar pool heating.
How Genersys Pool Heating Works
An array of Genersys thermal solar panels is installed on a south facing roof or south facing poolside area. The amount of panels required depends upon the size of the pool and the performance needs. The panels are connected through a sealed circuit to a specially designed chlorine resistant pool heat exchanger. The sealed circuit is filled with an glycol solution.
When light from the panels strikes the absorber surface heat is created. If the pool requires heat a modulating pump circulates the glycol solution (and the heat it carries) to the heat exchanger. The heat exchange operation is carried out immediately before the pool water is returned into the pool, after it has been filter. Providing the temperature at the panels is higher then the temperature in the pool, Genersys solar will heat the pool.

The above system was installed by Alan Leighton (Hull) Ltd 2005
