We provided on‑site support in partnership with one of the leading local installation companies in the Algarve (https://algarvesolarpoolheating.com/). Flying into Faro Airport from Leeds/Bradford was fantastic, and it was a pleasure and adventure to be involved in this project.
Solar thermal equipment was supplied by Hot Solar Water (https://www.hotsolarwater.com/). A large array of solar thermal panels was installed to raise the pool temperature to over 30 °C, enabling year‑round swimming.
The existing pool plant room was upgraded to accommodate a new pool heat exchanger, which is heated by glycol circulating through the roof‑mounted solar panels. With the Algarve’s abundant sunshine, the system delivers exceptionally high efficiency, effectively compensating for pool heat loss throughout the year.
